Derek J. Walker – Digital Media Producer
I am a highly accomplished digital media professional with over 18 years experience creating and producing marketing materials and content for print and the web. I love a good story. I have a passion for visual story telling through video production and motion graphics and a need to express myself through written and verbal communication. I have developed an excellent eye for color and composition, as well as an outstanding ability to take a project from conception to end product.
After working for several years as a Graphic Designer, and producing commercial art projects for print, I decided it was time to expand my skill set to include web design and multimedia. I wanted to become more involved with the overall process of content creation and help companies tell their story and manage their brands by developing and implementing clear and effective new media strategies, including web content management, social media engagement and video production.
A relatively simple person, I grew up in a small town outside of Denver, Colorado where I developed a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. Skiing, golf, fly-fishing; these are all passions of mine that I indulge in at every opportunity (I’ve even done all three in one day).
Besides having an Associates of Applied Sciences degree in Interactive Media Design from the Art Institute of Colorado, I also hold a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Colorado and am currently pursuing a Master of Communication in Digital Media (MCDM) degree from the University of Washington.
